Through hands-on activities and real-world聽case scenarios, you鈥檒l explore:

Looking for fresh ideas and inspiration to enhance your teaching? Join us at 张百乔女友裸照 on June 4 and 5聽for the SALTISE Conference 2025 鈥 a free, two-day event that brings together educators, researchers, students and pedagogical innovators from across the province and beyond.
This year鈥檚 theme, Connecting Communities Over a Decade: Reflections on past, purpose, and path ahead, celebrates over 10 years of sharing ideas and building communities around active learning and evidence-based teaching.
Expect an engaging program with talks, workshops, panels, and poster sessions鈥攁ll designed to spark new thinking and conversations. The conference will also feature a keynote from Dr. Marcela Borge, an expert in collaborative learning and educational technology from Penn State University.
Last year, 19 Dawson teachers presented at the conference, sharing the great work happening right here at our college. We鈥檇 love to see even more of our community attend this year鈥攚hether you're presenting, attending sessions, or just curious to see what SALTISE is all about.

Inclusion & Wellness Retreat Spring 2025

Join a two-day, all-inclusive retreat dedicated to professional growth and well-being for faculty and professionals.
Theme: Reach Everyone, Teach Everyone
Organized by the Universal Design for Learning co-facilitators, it will take place Wednesday and Thursday, June 11-12 at Far Hills, in the Laurentians.
The experience will provide enriching professional development and an opportunity to connect with colleagues in Nature.

SALTISE Workshop, April 11

Experiences with Transdisciplinary Course Designs will take place on Friday, April 11 at 2:30 PM.
Research is increasingly recognizing the significant benefits that inter- and transdisciplinary learning processes can offer when engaging with complex issues like climate and sustainability. In this talk, we will share our experiences as co-designers, co-instructors and co-learners in an innovative environmental and sustainability education course at McGill University. We will share insights on the enablers, barriers, and potential contributions of transdisciplinary teaching and learning for sustainability.

Helping prepare students to face real life situations

Building the belief that 鈥淚鈥檝e got this鈥 was the subject of CRLT teacher Heather Martin鈥檚 Performa project. The belief that you can achieve your goals, or self-efficacy, was the focus of her research paper and Intercollegiate Ped Day workshop.

The power of kindness

It is well established that post-secondary students are experiencing elevated levels of stress, anxiety and loneliness. Teachers are also experiencing heightened levels of stress in their workplace.
Kindness and well-being can feed and fuel optimal learning, Dr. John-Tyler Binfet told an audience of about 150 participants during his keynote talk at Intercollegiate Ped Day on Jan. 13.

Intercollegiate Ped Days are Jan. 13-14 online

Intercollegiate Ped Days will take place online Monday and Tuesday, January 13 & 14, 2025. The theme for IPD 2025 is Learning for Life: Building Competencies in and Beyond the Classroom
Participants can enjoy a rich program featuring presenters from across the English-language CEGEP network, including a keynote address by John-Tyler Binfet (UBC) on Considering Kindness in Higher Ed: Connections and Complexities simultaneous translation in French will be offered.)
All faculty members and professionals will receive an email in mid-December from Azra Khan (Office of Academic Development) with a link to register for the sessions that interest them.
